Family Retreat is a weekend getaway designed with foster, adoptive, and kinship families in mind. Families stay overnight at a beautiful campground in comfortable, hotel-style rooms, creating the perfect balance of rest and adventure. Throughout the weekend, families can enjoy fishing, lake swimming, canoeing, frisbee golf, basketball, playgrounds, crafts, and plenty of open space to relax and connect.

Evenings are spent together in a meaningful, family-style worship service, followed by one of everyone’s favorite traditions—hot dogs and s’mores around the campfire. Laughter, connection, and shared experiences fill the air as families slow down and simply enjoy being together.

This weekend has truly earned its name—the Best Weekend Ever—because it offers families what they so often need most: rest, joy, encouragement, and a reminder that they are seen, supported, and deeply valued.

We were not sure what to expect and were a bit hesitant to say yes, especially on a holiday weekend. Once we got there our son asked us “ Wow! Are all these kids adopted too?” It was a moment when he realized he wasn’t the exception. As foster and adoptive parents we are used to serving all the time but this was a weekend where we got to relax and take some time for us.
