Gloria Betts is a Founder and President of The Home Initiative.

She is an Assistant Vice-President in the Retail Marketing Department at Chevy Chase Bank, Bethesda, Maryland.
Gloria’s tenure at this financial institution has spanned 12; beginning in 1996 as a Senior Officer for the Marketing Analysis Group.

Her career in banking started at Mellon Bank, Rockville, Maryland where she worked as a Manager in Marketing and Retail Banking in 1995. While working on her master’s degree Gloria worked as a Finance Consultant for the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASDAQ) in Rockville, Maryland. She earned her MBA with an emphasis in International Business in 1996 from The George Washington University, Washington, DC. Her undergraduate alma mater is Saint Augustine’s College, Raleigh NC graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. This is not only her continuum as a philanthropist. Gloria sponsors various charities; she is currently providing scholarships to deserving secondary school students in Freetown and is a Volunteer Instructor for English as a second language. Gloria currently resides in Silver Spring, Maryland.
